If you are running into a driver compatibility error while trying to access the Victrix Control Hub app for your PlayStation Pro KO or Pro BFG, this indicates a compatibility issue with your PC’s current setup. This does not indicate any issue with the controller itself.
Below there are steps you can take to possibly narrow and resolve this error you are seeing. If the error persists, we recommend trying to use another PC to access and update your controller.
VictrixCompatibility.reg Registry file. (1) Run the Registry file with elevated permissions, (2) power cycle the Victrix Pro BFG, and (3) launch the app.
Third-party app conflicts. Third-party apps can interfere with device access, so if issues persist after running the Registry file, close all open apps (including Steam, and ensuring it’s an open in the background / system tray).
-
- If Steam is installed, try to go into the settings to deactivate the auto launch feature for computer start up. Then restart the computer without this program launched and retry step
- Certain apps like DS4Windows, reWASD, etc.. may need to be fully removed from the PC to remove error.
Windows Device Manager. If issues still persist, check the Windows Device Manager to ensure that all drivers are installed and loaded properly. A yellow "warning" icon indicates a driver issue.
Windows Safe Mode. Compatibility issues are likely to occur in Safe Mode and, more generally, any situation in which the standard USB drivers do not load.
If you are still experiencing this error message, we recommend using another PC to try and access the app for this update.
Steps to narrow the filter driver that may cause this error.
To check for upper/lower filter drivers:
1. Press the Windows key + X and select Device Manager.
2. In the Device Manager, expand the "Human Interface Devices" category.
3. Right-click on the HID device you want to check and select Properties.
4. Go to the "Details" tab.
5. In the "Property" drop-down menu, select "Lower Filters" (or “Class lower filters”) or "Upper Filters" (or “Class upper filters”).
6. If the value of the selected property is "None", then no filter drivers are installed. If there is a value present, then a filter driver is installed and this is an indication of incompatibility with the app.
