Cloud Remote for PS4 not working/does not connect to the PS4
NOTE: Trying to pair again an already-paired Cloud Remote for PS4 will cause it to fail. The Cloud Remote only needs to be paired once. If your Cloud Remote fails to work, please follow the instructions as listed below:
- Reset the remote by removing the batteries, then put the batteries back in.
- Using the PS4 DualShock controller, navigate to the Bluetooth Devices screen.
- Select the Media Remote for PS4 device and press the X (Enter) button on the DualShock controller.
- Press the OPTIONS button on the DualShock controller.
- Once the “Forget Device” menu item is shown on the right side of the screen, press the X (Enter)
- button on the DualShock controller.
- Use the D-Pad right button to select “OK” on the “The following device will be forgotten” screen, then
- press X (Enter).
- Pair the Cloud Remote for PS4 again.
L1/R1 do not work
With regards to L1 / R1 button functionality, and any other button functionality with certain media apps, we are aware of this issue and diligently working to resolve this issue with our app partners. Thank you for your patience.
How to pair the remote to the PS4
This operation is performed only once, when you are using the Cloud Remote for the first time.
1.Turn on the PS4™ system.
2.Using a connected controller, select: Settings -> Devices -> Bluetooth Devices from the PS4™ system menu.
3.Press the PS button once to activate the remote.
4.Next, press and hold the SHARE button and the PS button simultaneously until the red LED begins to flash.
- Place the remote close to the PS4™ system and wait for “PDP Cloud Remote” to appear in the device list.
- Using a DUALSHOCK 4 Wireless Controller, select “PDP Cloud Remote” from the list, and press the “X” button. When prompted, select “Yes”.
- The red LED on the remote will illuminate for
3 seconds and then turn off, indicating successful pairing.
- If pairing is unsuccessful, repeat steps 3
through 6.
Why can’t I see the remote in the device list during pairing?
If another remote is in the “Bluetooth devices” list, no other remote will pair, as only one remote can be connected to the console at a time. You will need to remove the other remote from the list:
- Go to Settings> Devices> Bluetooth Devices.
- Select your other remote from the list and choose “Disconnect” option.
- Using your PS4 controller, select your other remote from the devices list again.
- Press Options with your PS4 controller.
- Select “Forget Device”.
- Confirm your selection “OK”.
- Restart your console.
- Remove your remote’s batteries and put them back again.
- Once your console is ON, start pairing your remote by pressing PS and Share button for a few seconds until the LED starts blinking continuously.
- Find your remote on “Bluetooth devices” menu, select it and “Register”.
Unpairing / Removing Old Remotes – Important information before using the Media Remote for PS4
IMPORTANT: Only one remote can be connected to the PS4 console at a time. To prevent Bluetooth pairing difficulties, it is advised to unpair any other existing PS4 remotes from the console, before the Media Remote for PS4 is paired to the console.
NOTE: Disconnecting is not the same as unpairing, as the other remote can still be listed on the Bluetooth Devices listing on the PS4 console. Please follow the procedures below to properly unpair or “forget” the other remote before pairing the Media Remote for PS4.”
Steps to re-pair the PS4 Media Remote:
- Go to Settings> Devices> Bluetooth Devices.
- Select your other remote from the list and choose “Disconnect” option.
- Using your PS4 controller, select your other remote from the devices list again.
- Press Options with your PS4 controller.
- Select “Forget Device”.
- Confirm your selection “OK”.
- Restart your console.
- Remove your new remote’s batteries and put them back again.
- Once your console is ON, start pairing your new remote by pressing PS and Share button for a few seconds until the LED starts blinking continuously.
- Find your remote on “Bluetooth devices” menu, select it and “Register”.
