The buttons do not work
If switching controls from device to another device, please remember to press the appropriate DEVICES button (PS4, TV, AMP, CBL) first before pressing the desired button. For example: If you are controlling the TV’s volume then decide to use the PS4 control buttons, please ensure to press the blue “PS4” button located in the DEVICES section of the remote first. If switching back to TV controls, please press the “TV” button in the DEVICES section of the remote, then press the TV related button.
Additionally, the Volume Punch Through feature allows you control the volume without having to manually press the Devices buttons, once you have activated this feature.
To activate Volume Punch Through:
1 ) Hold down the gray device key for the device that should always control volume and the MUTE key at the same time.
2) The red LED will flash 3 times to indicate Volume Punch Through is successful
What apps are compatible with the PS4 Media Remote?
At launch, the number of apps that have full compatibility is a bit limited. Please check the link below for the full list. Any updates on the App list is done by Sony and Playstation and is not handled by PDP.

Why do I have to press the blue PS4 device key multiple times before the PS4 turns on?
The PS4 will turn on 6-10 seconds after you press the blue PS4 device key. This may give the impression that the blue PS4 device key needs to be pressed multiple times.
How do I remove the volume punch through feature from my selected device?
In order to remove volume punch through, follow the steps for programming volume punch through. It is important to press the device button first, then the mute button:
1. Hold down the gray device key for the device that
should always control volume and the MUTE key.
2. The red LED will flash 3 times to indicate Volume
Punch Through is successful.
3. This may take more than one attempt to remove Volume Punch Through.
Why can't I get the PS4 media remote to connect to my TV/AMP/Cable box using the codes in the manual?
The PS4 Media Remote is designed to be used as a universal remote. However, some models of TVs/AMPs/and even cable boxes may not be compatible with the remote, OR may connect but have limited functionality.
If you are unable to get the remote to connect to your device using the Manufacturer's Code list in the manual, try turning your device OFF and then re-entering the codes from the manual until you are able to operate your device. If the codes are not working, try the Auto Search Mode with your device on, and then again with your device off. If none of those options work then there may be a compatibility issue with your device and the remote.
If you are unable to locate your brand of device in the Manufacturer's Code list, follow the steps in the manual to perform Auto Search Mode with your device on. If that does not work, try again with your device off. If neither of those options work, then your device is not compatible with the remote.
What is the manufacturer's code to connect my remote to my TV?
Below is a list of manufacturer's codes to connect your PS4 Media Remote to your TV. What is the Manufacturer's code to connect my remote to my AMP?
Below is a list of manufacturer's codes to connect your PS4 Media Remote to your AMP. If your AMP is not listed or none of the codes work for your device, try the programming process again with your AMP OFF. If you are still having problems, try the Auto Search function with your AMP on and then again with your AMP off. Please note that if you input the code into your PS4 media remote and the red LED indicator does NOT flash, you have NOT successfully programmed the code. Retry the code again until the red LEDs flash after inputting the code.
*note: If the codes listed do not connect your remote to your AMP or you have limited/differing functionality, your remote and your AMP may not be compatible.

Unpairing / Removing Old Remotes – Important information before using the Universal Media Remote for PS4
Most problems that are caused with bluetooth peripherals, like with the PS4 Universal Media remote, can be solved by re-pairing a bluetooth device to the PS4 Console. It's important that the remote get's completely removed/unpaired from the PS4 Console, the previous connection has to be removed completely from the PS4.
IMPORTANT!: Disconnecting and reconnecting a remote does not re-pair the bluetooth device, the old connection has to be removed at all times!
Steps to re-pair the PS4 Media Remote:
- Go to Settings> Devices> Bluetooth Devices.
- Select your other remote from the list and choose “Disconnect” option.
- Using your PS4 controller, select your other remote from the devices list again.
- Press Options with your PS4 controller.
- Select “Forget Device”.
- Confirm your selection “OK”.
- Restart your console.
- Remove your new remote’s batteries and put them back again.
- Once your console is ON, start pairing your new remote by pressing PS and Share button for a few seconds until the LED starts blinking continuously.
- Find your remote on “Bluetooth devices” menu, select it and “Register”.
